There is nothing I relish more in life than a challenge that will ultimately uplift and restore values through communicating with different people from different backgrounds. Nigeria does not lack unity between young peers, rather the fight is roaring under the sleeves of our older leaders. These disputes between our leaders are suffered the most by the youth, chaining them and restricting their creativity and . Nigeria is filled with young bright innovative people, yet their light is unable to shine because of the situation of our country. The unfolding stories of strikes and inadequate teaching systems need to stop.
Education should be a priority and our leaders have failed to see that the future is in our hands; they forget that no condition is permanent and when they step down what have they impacted or left behind for us? Matters need to taken into our own hands, I know of situations were young minded Nigerians are taking matters to their own hands, from non-profitable charity organizations to making a name for them self’s through writing, public speaking and teaching others. Even in times of hardship and unstable condition, I see hope in the youth, they are strong, stronger than we all think and that is why our time and energy needs to be focused more on them.
The problem indeed is not just from the government but also the lectures, when I was young my mother told me that my teachers are like my parents, they encourage and motivate you, teach you things you cant learn at home, however I am beginning to see the words of my Mother fade in the educational system of Nigeria. Teachers are now the ones who need words, the kind my mother use to tell me when I was young. They need encouragement, how can that even be possible when even their pockets are not even encouraged let alone words.
If I were chosen to do things differently, I would first of all see things differently starting with what an educational system is supposed to look like. What makes up an educational system? The facilities, the teachers and the students are what makes up a system conducive for learning, all in which need to be addressed in order to develop. The facilities need reconstruction, leacutures need motivation
